On My Shelf

Image
I don't spend a lot of time on the shelves that Dad originally built for Louise, but like everything else in this flat, they are mine and I can use them whenever I want! The fun part about shelves, towers, and the window ledges is that it lets me look down on my loyal subjects! I like calling this shelf, the cat shelf.  Below it are some photos of me and Louise and a poem I wrote for Mum on Mother's Day.  And if look to the right of me is a drawing a friend of Mum made of me. Oh yes, I am photogenic and even artist love painting me!  I do have some very loyal subjects!

My Family Tree

Image
I know many people think I exaggerate when I talk about my proud family tree. Yet no one can say with certainty that these cats are indeed part of my family. Let me introduce you to some cousins of mine. First lets look at Charlie Cheetah. Charlie is a lot like me, in that we are a bit more flexible in revisions to attain our goal. We both insist that you must be clear about your intention and what it is you are trying to create. Than there is Lenny Lynx. He let's me see the truth of the matter. He nudges me to wake up and smell the roses!  One of my favorite cousins is Cassie Cougar. She showed me how to lead by example rather than by voice. Walk your talk. Josie Jaguar, tells me that I am finally free. Opportunities for happiness will follow me. We make our schedule towards the night because our minds are most active in the darkness My very strong cousin Leo Lion is the ultimate protector of hearth and home. Thus Leo advises me to heed the actions...

Got Outside!

Image
OK, I know what you think.  That a door was open and ran like my bottom was on fire and flew out the door before my human could shut the door.  No, it wasn't that dramatic or exciting. Mum picked me up and put me in my cage, Dad then put a cover over the cage and lifted me up.  His first words were that I had gained a little weight.  If I was a girl, it may have bothered me, yet, in hindsight, it wasn't a nice thing for me to hear. That means it won't be as easy to get mum (or dad) to give me some extra food.  I've got a couple of actions to fight back with.  One is my sad puppy dog eyes.  I've got that mastered, it always works.  IF by some miracle that don't work, then I will need to find my vocal chords and start meowing! I know it worked for Louise, maybe it will work for me. Anyway, my journey outside wasn't that exciting, in fact, I couldn't wait to get back home.  We went to the vets, where I was poked and probed.  I was wei...

My Power Animal

Image
Dad was adopted into the Cherokee Nation over ten years ago, and he has been teaching me the ways of the Native American Indian. One thing that really got my attention was their belief in power animals and the spirituality they bring into a person's life. It took me just a day on my scratching post to realize that my power animal is the Koala Bear. With the Koala Bear I learned to invite you to relax, to enjoy the moment, and go with the flow of nature.  Koala's are also messengers for physical well-being. Thus Koala meaning often comes to me as a signal to get some much-needed rest. They are known to sleep up to 20 hours a day. When their spirit comes to me, it usually is a sign to catch up on my sleep. Therefore, like my great uncle, the Lion, I need to take a break. Furthermore, I need to find an oasis of calm from the calamity of my daily life. The Koala also invites me to savor my downtime, enjoy my dreams, and revel in relaxation. People with the Koala nee...

My Sister

Image
This is my sister, Louise.  Sadly, I never met her in person but it is because of her that I am here today. Louise gave her life, so I would have a home to live.  I eat out of bowls which were once hers.  Daddy built her shelves, so she could sit high up in our living room, those shelves are now being used by me. If she was still alive, I wouldn't be here.  Yet, it is more than that.  She showed Mum and Dad how much love we can give.  How with a simple hug, or a purr, or even a meow, their problems would disappear because of her shy loving way. I know she holds a special place in Mum and Dad's hearts because they still speak about her often and you can see their eyes come to life when they remember how their Little Lou behaved. We are brother and sister because of our human parents.  I'll be forever grateful to Louise because of her love for these two, they knew that they wanted to give another kitty a furever home, filled with love and security....

Cats Rule and Dogs Drool

Image
Dad enjoys making videos and some of them do wonders for my cat ego!  This was made from one of my three very large cat windows.  I spend loads of time sitting by it and enjoying the warmth of the suns rays, surveying my whole kingdom.  From there I can watch boats going up and down the canal.  Often there are people walking on the paths and in the water I can see geese and ducks enjoying an afternoon swim. One day though, there was an event going on that showed how intelligent we are as cats!  Across the canal is a 40 foot tall flagpole.  Now don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with poles or posts.  I do enjoy my scratching posts and I have heard that even cows enjoying scratching along a wooden post. Yet, when I do it, or even when a cow does it, we do it for a reason.  To get scratch or to sharpen are claws, but this dog was trying to catch a flag on a 40 foot tall pole.  Don't believe me?  Watch the video! It just shows how intellectua...
