Got my eye on you!

Image
When I lived on the streets for my own safety I usually slept with one eye opened.  I never really had a peaceful, restful sleep.  Between the rain, wind, snow, and humans chasing me away, I never could enjoy a truly peaceful sleep. When I was caught by Cats Protection,  I began sleeping a little better, yet still not totally a restful sleep.  I mean on one side, I had a younger lad who constantly walked on his shelves all night.  I'd start to go to sleep and he'd jump to a lower shelf and on and on it went. I finally decided to fight fire with fire.  I'd wait till he finally settled down about 3:30 in the morning, so I started playing.  I threw all my toys around, even my litter box!  Every morning, my human caretakers would come in and wonder what I did all night.  They'd go about reorganizing my little shelter and by morning I'd have it torn up again. I will say that it has gotten me into a good habit of waking up every morning at 3:...

I'm a big boy

I once heard dad tell mum that he's a big boy!   I feel the same way.  When I first moved here they loved it when I laid on their laps and we watched TV together.  I think they'd still love to have me do that... but.... I am a big boy now!!!

Got Outside!

OK, I know what you think.  That a door was open and ran like my bottom was on fire and flew out the door before my human could shut the door.  No, it wasn't that dramatic or exciting. Mum picked me up and put me in my cage, Dad then put a cover over the cage and lifted me up.  His first words were that I had gained a little weight.  If I was a girl, it may have bothered me, yet, in hindsight, it wasn't a nice thing for me to hear. That means it won't be as easy to get mum (or dad) to give me some extra food.  I've got a couple of actions to fight back with.  One is my sad puppy dog eyes.  I've got that mastered, it always works.  IF by some miracle that don't work, then I will need to find my vocal chords and start meowing! I know it worked for Louise, maybe it will work for me. Anyway, my journey outside wasn't that exciting, in fact, I couldn't wait to get back home.  We went to the vets, where I was poked and probed.  I was wei...

Oh how my tummy loved it

Image
When I first moved here, this home that I live in, I found new feelings and sensations that I never experienced before. I hate to admit it, but I loved acting like a dog and just spreading out as far as my paws could go.  My tummy, loved the warm comfortable massage it received just by being in contact with it. Spreading out on a pillow was so much better than the cold ground I experienced outside. Those first few months every time I laid down, I laid like this and every time the feelings were unique.  They were warm and cheerful and safe!  Over time though, I realized that I was a cat!  I am king of this house and this was no way for a king to act.  So when humans are around, I sleep like a phynx, well as much as I can anyway. I let you in on a secret though, when no one is home, I'll let my "inner-dog" come out and the prim and proper me, turns into a bowl of jelly enjoying a little tummy massage!

Proud Parents and Proud Son

I can't say it enough how lucky I was that I was found by people that loved cats.  And how grateful I am to them that they found me my human parents.  I am very proud to call them my parents,  They've shown me patience and love.  Loads and loads and loads of love. I also know how proud they are of me.  Mum send my godmother loads of photos of me.  My grandparents ask about me and mum's eyes just light up with pride when she speaks about me. We are a happy family!
