On My Shelf


 I don't spend a lot of time on the shelves that Dad originally built for Louise, but like everything else in this flat, they are mine and I can use them whenever I want!


The fun part about shelves, towers, and the window ledges is that it lets me look down on my loyal subjects!


I like calling this shelf, the cat shelf.  Below it are some photos of me and Louise and a poem I wrote for Mum on Mother's Day.  And if look to the right of me is a drawing a friend of Mum made of me.


Oh yes, I am photogenic and even artist love painting me!  I do have some very loyal subjects!

I'm waiting!  That's right I'm waiting.  I'm so excited to show my mum what I've been up to.  Soon she'll walk through that door, walk upstairs, and I'll surprise her by singing Happy Birthday. Though at times, I think dad was losing patience with me.  I mean it's quite easy to confuse the words Happy Birthday with Happy Furday! Either way it's her birthday and I'll sing it the way these humans do it.  But if it was up to me, I'd be shouting from the roof tops, Happy Furday Mummy!!! All I can say is Purr, thank you Mum for loving me. Thank you for the food you bring, and for my squeaky things. Thank you for your friendly talks, and when you change my litter box. One Thing I Hate

  I'll say hate!  Mum and Dad laugh and say I'm scared.  That's not true!  Dad picked me up to avoid any conflict.  Look at me!  Do I look scared? Anyway, I'm not scared of anything.  Including spiders!  That's right, I hate spiders.  I am not scared of them - I just hate them. More then once my humans have chased them around the flat.  I was running the other way, just to get out of their way in capturing that critter! I wasn't running away out of fear.  In fact, those spiders are darn lucky I didn't stay and squish them!  Yes, some of them are quite big and I think they'd give me a good fight but I'd win. Though, I'm not scared, I will admit they are scary.  Mum, loves my feet.  My cotton sock feet.  Humans have two feet, I have four.  Do you know how many feet a spider has?  Eight!  Why do they need eight feet?  I mean when they get going they can be really fast.  It is hard getting ou...

My favorite things

There are some things that I truly love having as a house cat.  I'm not sure which one would be on top of the list, but my scratching post would certainly be right up there. Nothing brings me such simple joy as that post.  When I'm hungry but my parents won't feed me for another hour, I'll go to that post and scratch and scratch, it takes away my anxiety and my hunger pains. Other times, I'll run to it and climb it as mom or dad enter the room, it is guaranteed, they'll walk over and pet me on both sides from my shoulders down to my hind quarters - a full body massage. This is my second post.  My first one was used so much that there wasn't much left to it, so my humans got rid of it.  I had no idea what was going on but my post was gone!  I thought I did something wrong.  I'd run into the living room and go to where it was and had nothing to scratch!  Two.  Whole.  Days.  With no post!  I was confused and yes angry!
