My Power Animal

Image
Dad was adopted into the Cherokee Nation over ten years ago, and he has been teaching me the ways of the Native American Indian. One thing that really got my attention was their belief in power animals and the spirituality they bring into a person's life. It took me just a day on my scratching post to realize that my power animal is the Koala Bear. With the Koala Bear I learned to invite you to relax, to enjoy the moment, and go with the flow of nature.  Koala's are also messengers for physical well-being. Thus Koala meaning often comes to me as a signal to get some much-needed rest. They are known to sleep up to 20 hours a day. When their spirit comes to me, it usually is a sign to catch up on my sleep. Therefore, like my great uncle, the Lion, I need to take a break. Furthermore, I need to find an oasis of calm from the calamity of my daily life. The Koala also invites me to savor my downtime, enjoy my dreams, and revel in relaxation. People with the Koala nee...

I do worry

Image
I may not always show it, but I do worry about my mum and dad.  They both work so hard, to not only provide a nice home for them, but also for me. I especially worry about dad.  He goes to work as the sun begins to set and I don't see him until morning. I know from my time on the street that it can be dangerous in the dark.  He doesn't talk that much about his job, probably because he doesn't want me or mum to worry to much. I try to give him a love touch or a good hug before he leaves and most mornings I'll greet him as he enters our flat.  Sometimes, I'm so happy that he is home, that I bring a ping pong ball, so we can play.  Other times I just want to cuddle, so I'll roll on my back and let him rub my tummy. After that, I know he is home and safe and I can go back to sleep.  I can't wait till he retires!!!

Working on my tan

Spring time has arrived!  And for me that means it's time to take this lily white ginger fur and get it back to full fiery ginger colour! If nothing else, just laying in the sun, after an extremely cold winter, has my whole body nice and warm. Never really enjoyed days of laying around in the sun.  Now with a family and a home, I am able to enjoy the simple things in life. And besides that the girls love fiery red ginger cats!

One of my Ghostwriters

Image
OK, I admit it.  I have some ghostwriters.  I say some because I get my ideas from many humans and then put them into my own words. Dad does a lot of my typing, yet.... at times, I get really frustrated with him.  He thinks he is some kind of artistic genius when it comes to writing.  I'll tell him what I want to say, yet more times then not, he'll change some of it to make it sound better. That's not the point Dad!  The point is that this is my blog, so write what I say! I mean some times I get so frustrated I'll just walk right over that keyboard and start typing what I want.  More than once he has looked at me asking how did you do that?   See?  He's not that smart, I find things with that keyboard that he never thought his computer could do. I've shown him how to even fast forward YouTube videos by just hitting a couple of keys.  One time, he had on a three hour video.  It was on 4 minutes, when I showed him how to move it up t...

Oh how my tummy loved it

Image
When I first moved here, this home that I live in, I found new feelings and sensations that I never experienced before. I hate to admit it, but I loved acting like a dog and just spreading out as far as my paws could go.  My tummy, loved the warm comfortable massage it received just by being in contact with it. Spreading out on a pillow was so much better than the cold ground I experienced outside. Those first few months every time I laid down, I laid like this and every time the feelings were unique.  They were warm and cheerful and safe!  Over time though, I realized that I was a cat!  I am king of this house and this was no way for a king to act.  So when humans are around, I sleep like a phynx, well as much as I can anyway. I let you in on a secret though, when no one is home, I'll let my "inner-dog" come out and the prim and proper me, turns into a bowl of jelly enjoying a little tummy massage!

Proud Parents and Proud Son

I can't say it enough how lucky I was that I was found by people that loved cats.  And how grateful I am to them that they found me my human parents.  I am very proud to call them my parents,  They've shown me patience and love.  Loads and loads and loads of love. I also know how proud they are of me.  Mum send my godmother loads of photos of me.  My grandparents ask about me and mum's eyes just light up with pride when she speaks about me. We are a happy family!
